LASSN Volunteer Training Programme 2017

Each year, we arrange additional training for our volunteers, based on what they have asked for (via our annual Volunteers Survey).

Places are primarily there for LASSN volunteers, but there are a few spaces for volunteers working with refugees and asylum seekers from other groups, free of charge. If you’re interested, sign up for a place and we’ll be in touch to confirm your place at least one week in advance of the training.

The Transition from Asylum Seeker to Refugee – Led by Jon

For volunteers who support people during the period between being granted leave to remain, and leaving NASS accommodation (and beyond)

This session will explore the process of transition from being an Asylum Seeker to becoming a refugee. It will help you understand what needs to happen, when, and how to enable the person you support to take charge of the process from asylum support to independence.

It will suit people who want to better understand the transition process, the tasks to be completed, and the best help they can be to someone who’s been given 28 days to leave their NASS accommodation.

Date: 5th December
