BBC Skillswise
This is not specifically an ESOL resource but has a very clear section for learning English and Maths. There are numerous videos on grammar, reading, writing, spelling and practising speaking and listening. They have level specific tests too, as well as games to consolidate learning.

Lots of activities which you can do online at different levels – grammar, reading, writing and some listening.

BBC Learning English
Reading and vocabulary activities based on current news stories, for Entry 3 and above.

Write & Improve
A Cambridge English site which has several written tasks your learner can choose. They will be required to write a certain amount then given feedback. If they regularly use the site, they can create an account and have their progress charted.

Learn English – British Council
Great website from the British Council with lots of great resources and lessons on developing your grammar and vocabulary. There is also a section on IELTS.

Learn My Way
Very useful website for learning about using technology and the internet. Sections range from listening to music online to accessing your health records. You will need to register (for free) to access all the sections.

Learning English.org.UK: Learning English in Yorkshire and the Humber
Lots of excellent resources with a search function to find what you need. These include Yorkshire and Leeds specific resources too.

The English Hub for Refugees
A wonderful resource suitable from beginner to A2 level. This site has flashcards, activities and tests which the learner can use by themselves or with you to develop their skills.

ESOL Courses – English Lessons for Beginners
Really good lessons on all of the basics, such as the alphabet and counting from 1-10.

ESOL Courses – English for Work
Lots of lessons to improve English specifically for the world of work. Sessions include interviews, health and safety and employment laws.
