The Government has recently announced a Children and Young People’s Resettlement Fund.

This competitive fund will provide grants to Voluntary, Community or Social Enterprise organisations and Local Authorities in England for projects that address the specific needs of children and young people on pathways from Ukraine, Hong Kong and Afghanistan.

The goal is for funded projects to have a positive impact on the lives of these young people in England, both in the short and longer-term, and to contribute to our understanding of effective interventions. Funding can be used, for example, to access mental health support, counselling and therapy, displacement-focused support, peer group workshops and school-based interventions. English language courses, employment training and support into higher education are also encouraged to help young people integrate better into their local communities. Up to £2.5 million is available in funding across 2023 to 2024 (£800,000) and 2024 to 2025 (£1.7 million) for projects.
