Volunteering with LASSN is life-changing—for the people we support, and for you.

From making friends and practising English to finding safe places to live, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re mentoring, teaching, befriending or hosting, you’ll be offering practical, powerful support to refugees and asylum seekers in Leeds.

You’ll receive top-quality training, ongoing support, and a warm welcome into a brilliant community. And because we’re serious about doing things well, our programme has been awarded the Leeds Volunteering Quality Mark.

We ask for a 6-month commitment so you can build real, lasting connections—and make a lasting difference.

Our next round of training will run in September 2025. We will add the dates here once they are confirmed.

Other Opportunities

If you don’t see anything that grabs you, or if you are unable to make the minimum 6 month commitment we ask of all volunteers, then you may find something more suitable via the Leeds Volunteer Centre.

If you have a particular interest in volunteering with asylum seekers and refugees, a comprehensive list of volunteering opportunities can also be found at http://helpinleeds.com
